Bobby Buckle was a founder, first captain, scorer of the first recorded Spurs goal, their youngest ever goal scorer (aged just 15 yrs and 3 days), Treasurer, Secretary and Director of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Without Bobby Buckle, there would be no Spurs! He wasn’t just one of the founders of the Hotspur football team he was at the centre of every major moment in its development off the field during the first twenty years of its existence.
BLUE PLAQUE APPLICATION
In spite of our very best efforts, and a huge amount of support from supporters around the world, THFC and THST, our application for an English Heritage Blue Plaque was not successful. No reasons are given for not awarding one, but very few are awarded each year.
However, it remains our long term goal to raise awareness of Bobby and to obtain from the owners of No.7 permission to erect our own plaque to commemorate Bobby's and Spurs early connection to the house.
As part of our application for Bobby, a biography was published, telling for the first time the full story of the birth and development of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
YOU CAN ORDER YOUR COPY OF HIS BIOGRAPHY ONLINE:
